    Dog Walk Discs

In a flimsy excuse for a bit of fun, lets invoke the spirit of the BBC radio show Desert Island Discs. Assume that you and your favourite hound are cast adrift on some distant, deserted shoreline. You can only listen for so long to gentle lapping of the waves; the wind rustling in the palms; the chatter of the numerous wild beasties and birdies and the sound of the elements at work. What are the ten pieces of music you would want on your music player as you wandered around with the dog?

Please feel free to submit your own list and add explanations for the choice if you wish.
You also get to choose a luxury and a book. We will assume that the Bible/Quran/Hindu texts as you require, are on the island already, together with a 'collected works' of your choice as I don't think many would go for Shakespeare anymore.

Here goes with mine, though not in any particular order:

    1. Milk and Alcohol by Dr Feelgood,
    2. Walking in Rythm by The Blackbirds
    3. Exodus by Bob Marley and the Wailers
    4. Tulsa Time by Derek and the Dominoes
    5. This land is Your Land by The Seekers (Judith Durham et al.)
    6. Delaneys Donkey/ O'Rafferty's Motor Car by Val Doonican
(I know thats two but its my game!)
    7.Good People by Jack Johnson
    8. Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper
    9.Monkey Man by Amy Winehouse
10 The Boxer by Simon & Garfunkel

As I have just done this one quickly without a great deal of thought, I may do an update in future.

    Collected works: Arthur C Clarke

    Book: US Army Survival Manual

Luxury: Guitar and tuition guide so I can learn to play it.

Hope you have fun with this one.

When I saw the thread title I thought this was going to be dog related songs. Going to have to have a think about this. Don't want to be stuck on an island with the wrong stuff

Just had a thought. Does the dog get a luxury to or does it need to share yours?

How thoughtless of me, you are quite right Magikelly. Please include a treat for the dog in your posts.

PoppyDogs treat would be an everlasting bouncy ball that she cannot chew to bits and does not get lost in he undergrowth.

    Getting to ten ishard enough!

a musical instrument is a bit of a cliche, but I would need something to do when the dog is to too tired to go anywhere.

Okay here we go. This may tell you more about me than you want to know.

    Songs
1 Beethoven's 9th symphony. The Choral Symphony. I like the way it builds and the big choral ending.
2 Muppets, Life's a Happy Song Finale. Can't believe Man or a Muppet one the Oscar. It should have been this one. I like feel good music and this is one of a few kids film songs I really like.
3 Let it Grow, from the film of the Lorax. Same reasons as above.
4 One Voice by The Wailin' Jennys. Something a little slower and more thoughtful.
5 I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack, I quite like a bit of country music. I like all sorts of music as I am sure you can tell.
6 Four Minute Warning by Mark Owen, This and the following one go together. Don't waste time get living now.
7 Today Was Your Last Day by Nickelback
8 I'd Lie For You by Meat Loaf. You have to have some Meat Loaf
9 Bell by Mike Oldfield from Tubular Bells 2, semi classical.
    10 1812 Overture, Tchaikovsky

I thought I would struggle to get ten but when I started it was difficult to keep it that low.

A book collection would probably be Neil Gaiman I like most of all his stuff.

Book, A Christmas Carol. By far my favourite book and story.

My luxury would be a sketchbook with unlimited paper and pencils. All that spare time would give me a chance to learn to sketch.

Sam has asked for her blue star toy. I have no idea what it is called but you can put food in it for her to work at getting out and she can just chew on it as well. She can retrieve it and it floats too.
