Puppy Farmers fined after two dogs die.
A HUSBAND and wife puppy farming team were fined £42,000 after creating a possible “reservoir of disease" for the 102 dogs on their farm - two of which later died.
David and Patricia Jones, 63, of Oaklands, New Lodge Farm, New Lodge Chase pleaded guilty at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Monday and were given six months to pay the fines, legal costs and deductions under a proceeds of crime order – the first of its kind to be given for offences animals.
Their property was raided after complaints by four customers, two of which had bought puppies which had died from the killer virus Parvovirus and two whose puppies were taken ill and complained after having to pay vet bills.
