    Avatar pictures

Crow is here drinking my booze and eating my food. He has also pointed out in his drunken stupor that he could not upload an avatar. Now while there are many things Crow cannot do, riding a motorcycle comes to mind, this was something he should have been able to manage. Turns out the setting was disabled. I have now sorted this so if you tried and failed before you should manage it now.

I have my uses. I also launder money, operate a boat library service, change lightbulbs, and donate my body for medical experiments.

Why is the size for an allowable Avatar SO tiny?? The site specifies 19.5 KB, as compared to SOTP which is 58.6 KB. There is NO way I can reduce a photo down to 19.5 KB and still have it visible to the human eye......

    Whaddup???

It's 80 by 80 pixels, which is the same as SOTP, or 19.5KB which is about a third.

If we ask Magic nicely, he might up it.

Or would you like me to draw you an avatar?

I can do 80 x 80, but even when I do, it's WAY over 19.5 KB, WAY over??

And thank you, but, no drawing.

Sigh. Well Van Gogh was used to rejection too, I guess.

The settings are the same as SotP, sort of. The difference is on SotP contributing members can upload a larger file. I have doubled the file size here as standard now to see if that helps.

OK, so next question....how are you gonna cut one of 'em off, when Crows have no thumbs???

We have one opposable claw on each foot.

But I will keep my ear.

Perhaps I would do better to identify with E.H.Shepard (not A.A.Milne as somebody helpfully suggested on SOTP).
